From the American Library Association website:
“The theme for National Library Week 2020, “Find your place at the library,” was chosen some time ago, before any of us could imagine the emergence of a global pandemic that would force most libraries to temporarily close their physical spaces. But you can still find your place at the library because libraries are open for business online, providing the virtual services and digital content their communities need more than ever. You can access ebooks, movies, music, video games, virtual storytimes and activities, and so much more — all from the the comfort of your home.
“This year during National Library Week, let’s celebrate by showing our appreciation for the many innovative ways libraries, librarians and library workers are continuing to serve their communities during a time of crisis.”
Those of you lucky enough to live in Door County know that the Door County Library system has risen to the challenge in all the ways they can! They graciously collected books for physical book lending for as long as it was feasible and have now turned to the internet to provide their usual collection of ebooks, audio books, and movies, and so much more!
Did you know you can get access to genealogical resources? Car repair manuals? Full color magazines? Many lending services have opened up their services to be FREE during this time, or to remove the LIMIT on how many items you can borrow.

Don’t have a library card? No problem…the staff is also handling that online too! What can’t they do?
The staff here at Rowleys Bay Resort is keeping plenty busy, working on winter projects, and (maybe not so patiently) waiting until we can see you again! We’re also doing a ton of reading. Here’s what some of us are up to:
Aside from this, a few specific books and series have been making the rounds among the staff, including:
The Memory Man series by David Baldacci
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus
The Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer
Follow us on Instagram and Facebook and tell us what YOU’RE currently reading. That very well may be where we get our next idea from!
ALSO, there’s one week left to complete and submit your BINGO card! Send it, along with your phone number to bingo @ rowleysbayresort.com to enter in the drawing.
Haven’t started playing yet? Go HERE to print a bingo sheet and then read the next 30 days of blog posts to play along!
There are fun prizes courtesy of Rowleys Bay Resort, Grandma’s Swedish Bakery, and Novel Bay Booksellers. Drawing to be held April 27th and winners will be notified shortly thereafter.
